The Hera Quartet is a dynamic and international string quartet based in Amsterdam. Founded in 2022 when its four members met at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, they rapidly established has a rising ensemble in the international scene. 

The quartet already made its debut at important venues. 
In the season 2024/25 they made their debut in a sold out Kleine Zaal of Concertgebouw.

In 2025 the Hera Quartet made its appearance at the Dutch National Radio NPO Klassiek and at the Dutch television programme “Podium Klassiek’ on NPO 2.

They took part in several international festivals like the Zoom Festival, String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam, Festival dei Giovani Concertisti di Castel Rigone (Italy), Forme Classiche (Italy), Scaldis Kamermuziek Festival, the Emmy Verhey Festival, and Beethoven Festival. 

In May 2026 they were selected by the Kersjes Fund as string quartet in residence at the Zoom Festival in The Netherlands , where they shared the stage with the internationally acclaimed Ruysdael Quartet.

In September 2023, they played the pre-concert for the Danish String Quartet and in January 2024, they were invited to perform the pre-concert for the Jerusalem Quartet at the String Quartet Biennale Festival in Amsterdam.

Highlights of the 2024/25 season were the perfomance in occasion of The National Geographic Summit in Amsterdam, performing in a sold out Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ and their return in the Kleine Zaal of Concertgebouw in occasion of a special event in collaboration with bestselling author Dan Brown.

The Hera Quartet was selected as the winner of the the audience prize by Theatre de Leest which is assigned every year to the most appreciated concert of the season.

Since 2023 the Hera Quartet studies under the guidance of the acclaimed Dutch Russian cellist Dimitri Ferschtman. 
Since November 2023, the Hera Quartet has been an official member of the NSKA String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam, receiving guidance from esteemed musicians such as Marc Danel, Eberhard Feltz, Lukas Hagen, Petr Prause, Simone Gramaglia, Matthieu van Bellen, Judith van Driel, and David Faber.


The quartet has been accepted into the ISA-MDW Summer Academy and the prestigious Chigiana Academy (Siena, Italy), where they studied under the supervision of Bruno Giuranna. In September 2024 the Hera Quartet was selected as one of the three ensembles to take part in “Espresso Masterclass” held in Cassine, Italy, where they played concerts organized by “Le Dimore del Quartetto”. They received intensive coaching with Kyrill Zlotnikov, Arben Llozi and Simone Gramaglia.
